Leaderboards
Beating your friend is fun once. Being ranked in your school is what brings you back.
Not live yet
Ranking needs accounts, and accounts are the next thing being built. Rather than show you a table of invented players, this page explains exactly how it will work — and it will fill with real names the week it ships.
Your wins are already being recorded locally in the meantime, and you will be offered the chance to import them when you make an account.
How rating works
Rating uses Glicko-2 rather than plain Elo. Elo has a specific weakness here: a brand-new school board is thirty players all sitting on the same number with no way to separate them. Glicko-2 tracks how confident it is about each rating, so new players find their level in a handful of matches while established ones stay stable.
| Match type | Counts? |
|---|---|
| Against the computer | No |
| Pass & play on one device | No |
| A friend you sent a link to | No |
| Matchmade opponent | Yes |
| Monthly Cup match | Yes |
Friend matches deliberately do not count. If they did, two people could inflate each other all afternoon and the board would be meaningless before it started.
The four boards
School
At launchThe headline board. Everyone at your school, ranked by rating. This is the one people actually check.

State
LaterStatewide standings.
Global
LaterEveryone. Honest answer: this only becomes interesting at scale.
The Monthly Cup
Once a month, every school runs its own bracket. Small schools still get a real tournament, and every school gets its own champion — somebody whose classmates actually know them.
